Tarantella has suffered from an accident in the Haukilahti harbour after Volvo-Suursaari race, when a heavy boat backed into the side while Tarantella was laying at the quay.

The strong hull withstood the crash without visually very big damages, however a deep crack developed above the water line and on the inside several structures came loose. The navigation table got a big crack as well. The other boat broke its rudder shaft, so the crash was rather hard. Some pictures in the gallery.

Jouko Lindgren Oy kindly promised to make the first repair at an express delivery time, and Tarantella will be relaunched by 28.6. The season and racing can therefore be continued as planned.

Repair of the internal damages will be done next fall.

After a few weeks of leisure sailing we now look forward to the Nautor's Swan Anniversary Regatta in Turku at end of July. Read the press release and view the participants. 72 boats are listed, however, this may not be a complete list.
